Gifts to The Bonner Program contribute to...
The Bonner Program consists of 25-30 college students who demonstrate a commitment to social action and service learning in the greater Greensboro area. Divided into a cohort model among four class years, each Bonner completes 100 hours of service per semester with an established community partner in areas such as refugee resettlement, food access, and youth education initiatives. Students selected for the program have displayed a formidable commitment to civic engagement and social change within themselves, their campus, and their community.
Third year Bonner students are asked to complete a capacity building project as one of the required cornerstone activities of the Bonner program. They will be raising money for our first year Bonners first year trip in April 2024.
Each year, first year Bonner students embark on a first year trip dedicated to service learning, social action, and community building. It is an imperative part of the program experience for that cohort of students to increase awareness around systemic gaps and oppression, as well as build relationship and belonging with one another.
