Career, Academic, and Personal Exploration (CAPE)

CAPE is the integrated advising office for Guilford College. We serve as the primary advisors for all first year students as well as a hub for career and professional development for the campus community. CAPE Advisors also instruct first year courses for all of our advisees. We help students navigate campus life, internships, graduate school applications, and job hunting as students and alums. Each year, we host various fairs such as the Major Mixer, the Graduate School Fair, and the Career Fair.

This year, we are raising funds to aid students in supplemental support for graduate school applications and required testing fees as well as preparation materials.

As students explore their next steps post-graduation, many do not have the secured funds to take part in test preparation that would immensely aide their performance on required tests such as the MCAT, GRE, LSAT, etc. Application fees can also be expensive, so CAPE would like to help bridge that gap so more students feel encouraged to pursue these opportunities.

Graduate school applications and required testing need to be more accessible for those who seek it. We would not only be able to educate students (especially first-generation) on the opportunities in graduate-level degree programs, but we may be able to offer some financial support along with it.
